OHAS is proud to have been chosen to act as the contract operator of the transportation system for the City of Sandy, Oregon.

Sandy is located 23-miles south-east of downtown Portland on Highway 26 and is only 30-miles from Mt. Hood. The nearest city, Gresham, is situated on Portland's eastern boundry.

Sandy is the jumping-off spot for hiking, fishing, camping and mountain climbing.

The Sandy Mountain Days Festival, the Historic Barlow Road, Mt. Hood Scenic Loop Highway, Jonsrud viewpoint, an Aquatic Center, 4 parks, 3 nearby golf courses, and the scenic Sandy River are all features of this beautiful city.

There are two separate bus routes that serve the city: SAM and STAR. The SAM route provided FREE transportation between Sandy and Gresham. The STAR route has a varied schedule, but is predominately a demand-responce service. More complete information on both SAM and STAR can be obtained by clicking on the SAM and STAR logos below.

Buses are wheelchair accessable and equipped with bike racks, providing service between Sandy & Gresham.

STAR is the intra-city (Sandy) bus service operating as a curb-to-curb and demand-response carrier.
